With Fear & Trepidation

Crazy, I know it. But, this room needed a window. Since the floor already has a crack and this base may not make it out of the kiln in one piece, what's one more potential disaster. So, I added a window, a faux window. The problem? The piece is bone dry. I used vinegar to attach it and with several cracks in the window occurring during the attaching process, I can only hope and pray that the widow stays on in the kiln.

I do a lot of praying when my pieces go into the kiln. It should be ready for the kiln tomorrow, start praying... kt

Ink & Clay 35

Had a great time this past Sunday at the 35th Annual Ink & Clay exhibition at Cal Poly Pomona. The exhibition was awesome, I was honored to have a piece in this show. I saw some incredible art and met some really great artists. There will be an online catalog available soon. I'll post a link when it goes up.

The real treat, above all else, was spending the weekend with my daughter! Thanks Bre for such a great weekend! Thanks to my husband, Brian, for holding down the fort and taking care of the dog's. Life is good.... kt

Starting a new Piece...

I can't, for the life of me, figure out why I won't try something easy. I'll have to stay focused on my deadline... I'm hoping to finish this one for the
Crocker Art Auction
Running short of time...hoping I make it. April 17 is my deadline...?

My Spartan Showing at Ink and Clay 35

This piece, "My Spartan" is the second piece in a series I call...In the Corner. This piece is being featured in the 35th annual Ink and Clay exhibition at the W. Keith and Janet Kellogg University Gallery from March 19 through May 2, 2009. This piece is for sale.

My In the Corner series is a compilation of vignettes where I hope to convey a message of how our behavior at times ought to send us...nose to the corner until we meet up with our attitudes.

Ink and Clay 35 is an exhibition of prints, ceramics and drawings juried by Christy Johnson director of the American Museum of Ceramic Art and Carolyn Peter director and curator of the Laband Art Gallery at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
